📌 Subscription Management

This guide explains how to view and manage your Control Core subscription plan and understand license requirements.

📌 Overview

Control Core offers different subscription tiers to meet your organization's needs:

  • Kickstart: 30-day zero-cost pilot with basic features
  • Custom: Self-hosted deployment with full control

Your subscription tier determines:

  • Available features and capabilities
  • License Server connection requirements
  • Policy testing and production deployment access

📌 License Server Connection

Why License Server Connection is Required

Control Core requires a connection to the License Server for:

  • Subscription Verification: Verifying your subscription status
  • Feature Gating: Enabling policy testing and production deployment
  • Trial Management: Tracking trial periods and extensions

Without License Server Connection

If License Server is not connected:

  • ✅ You can create policies
  • ❌ You cannot test policies
  • ❌ You cannot promote policies to production

Connecting to License Server

  1. Navigate to SettingsGeneralTelemetry tab
  2. Configure License Admin URL (e.g., https://business-admin.controlcore.io)
  3. Enter your API Key (provided by Control Core)
  4. Click Test Connection to verify connectivity
  5. Click Save to store configuration

See the Telemetry Management Guide for detailed instructions.

Understanding License Requirements

Bouncer Pair Licensing

Control Core licensing is based on bouncer pairs:

  • 1 Free Pair: One Control Plane + one bouncer pair (Sandbox + Production) is included
  • Additional Pairs: Each additional bouncer pair requires additional licensing

Your telemetry data automatically tracks bouncer pairs for license verification.
